Hi! I'm Octavia, an electrical engineer and local tutor serving Poway and North County.

I graduated from Cal State San Marcos with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and I've been tutoring since high school. Throughout college, I worked with students across North County — San Marcos, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, Encinitas, and surrounding areas — including at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad. I've tutored students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds, helping them build confidence in math, science, and STEM subjects.

I now work full-time as an electrical engineer and keep tutoring because I love sharing what I know and helping students sharpen their problem-solving skills.

My goal isn't just to help students understand challenging concepts — it's to help them build the foundation and confidence to tackle problems on their own. I'd love to help your student succeed!

Client Testimonials

  • In 2017, my son Daniel was struggling with middle school math. We heard about Octavia offering virtual tutoring to those struggling specifically in math. She tutored him for an hour once a week and was on time, well-prepared, and organized. She was friendly, interacted well with my son, and broke things down so he could understand where he was going wrong. Daniel improved his math grade from a low C to a B within a couple of months of tutoring. I would highly recommend Octavia as a math tutor. She has the gift of being able to interact with kids on their level and help them improve their math skills.

  • Octavia has been an outstanding Algebra 2 tutor for my son, Andrew. He has worked with other tutors in the past, but none have been as effective as Octavia. She has a way of breaking down complex concepts into simpler, more manageable steps, making the material much easier to understand. Andrew’s confidence in math has grown tremendously since working with her. We’re so grateful to have found such a knowledgeable and patient tutor. Highly recommend!

  • Octavia has been tutoring my daughter, Mihika, since Grade 7 and continues to guide her through high school. She has a wonderful way of making difficult math concepts easy to understand and never makes learning feel stressful. What I love most is how she helps Mihika think for herself. Instead of just giving answers, she encourages her to figure things out on her own and understand the logic behind each problem. Octavia is patient, clear, and always helps build Mihika’s confidence. Because of her guidance, Mihika now enjoys math and isn’t afraid to take on harder topics. Octavia has truly been both a great tutor and a mentor — motivating her to believe in herself and do her best. We are so grateful to have found her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, knowledgeable, and inspiring tutor.
